Yes, there are a ton of FREE options out there and just about everyone loves getting FREE items. But how does it look to potential clients when they see you did your website for free? The feedback we have gotten is that it does not give off a good first impression. Most feel you did not take your business serious enough to invest in a well built website, so why should they take you serious and have faith in the product/service you are providing?
Why a designer over someone who says "Oh, I can build a website for you!" Web designers are in business to build a superior product, and know how to do it right. They know what items to put in the coding behind the scenes, know how to properly set up analytics so you can see how many visitors you are getting, where they're coming from, and how to coordinate your keywords with your content, just to name a few. Yes, someone who is not a web designer can build a website, but having it built the way Google and the search engines want it is a whole different story! If you are building a website, you want it to be built to be effective and useful, just not a stagnant place on the web. Think about it. Would you trust someone who says "Oh, I can pull your tooth for you" that is not a dentist? Probably not. So why trust your business to someone who is not qualified the way an actual web designer is? It's our profession, it's what we do! The price is well worth it!
